Practitioner Details ::Carmel Smith WHEN A KISS OR A BAND AID SIMPLY WON'T DO
Jane* was 11 and had been diagnosed and suffering with anorexia for 12 months. Her parents were distraught! They had taken her to eating disorder doctors, dieticians, nutritionists, and eating disorder clinics. The next step for her was to be placed in a special ward at the John Hunter Hospital, along with older teenagers with similar symptoms, some of which were self harming! Her parents were not permitted to stay with her and this did not feel comfortable for them. They did not want her to be placed in this environment without them. Fortunately, a friend told Jane’s mum about The Journey and about me. I am a Journey Practitioner. My passion is to work mainly with children and teenagers, and with their families, to assist them in clearing out their emotional blocks to health and happiness. Jane came to see me once and since then has resumed eating in a healthy way. She is putting on weight, her eating disorder doctor commented on the “sparkle in her eye”, others have noticed the change, and her parents are thrilled. They can now go out as a family for a meal, and they see their young daughter healthy and happy again. The greatest joy for Jane was when I told her she did not have to come back! She was so fed up with specialist appointments! It’s kids like Jane that keep me inspired and in awe of the amazing potential that lies deep within all of us. Her story encourages me to continue with the tools of The Journey TM to assist other children and teenagers in clearing out their emotional blocks to real freedom, real potential. I know there are so many children and teenagers who would benefit from The Journey, if only they knew about it -dealing with issues such as anger, sadness, grief, feelings of isolation, eating disorders, inability to fit in, relationship issues, children dealing with loss through divorce or death, teenagers who are over stressed with school work or relationship issues, poor social skills, poor energy, ADD and ADHD, etc.

Here is what another parent had to say: “It has been a true blessing for my Daughter. I have noticed a real difference in her behaviour and emotions. She is so much happier within herself... It really helps to equipped children to deal with life's challenges in such a positive nurturing way. What a wonderful resource it is for parents! Thanks Carmel.” Nicole

“We found that you were very understanding, showed great empathy and made us feel at ease during our Journeys, which were at times quite emotional and very moving. The Journey work was very empowering, and we have both noticed subtle and large changes in the different areas we were working on. Thank you very much for providing a great support mechanism to us during a challenging time in our lives”. Richard and Rachel
